The Ministry of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and Brunei Darussalam will be hosting ASEAN CIO Forum 2012 in their joint cooperation to promote the development of communication technology prior to the formation of the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) formation.
ICT permanent secretary Jeerawan Boonperm said Thailand hasa been given honor to host the first ever ASEAN CIO Forum 2012 from April 19-20 at Centara Grand Central Plaza, Bangkok.
The forum will be hosted by the Ministry of ICT, Brunei, ASEAN and CIO16 Thailand. According to Mrs. Jeerawan, this event will be a venue for ICT executives of ASEAN nations to exchange their ideas and experiences to better improve trhe ICT technology. Since technology evolves quickly, it is important for our communications to be evolving at the same speed before the AEC takes place.
It will also serve as a platform to establish economic cooperation for ASEAN nations. The topics of discussions range from the CLOUD assessing and security systems, the unification of mobile phone networks and other communication channels, as well as cyber space security. She added that the forum will also seek to improve the natural disaster warning system in Thailand.
