Bangkok Symphony Orchestra Foundation in association with B.Grimm and NUNi Productions proudly present the Opera “Dido & Aeneas” on Friday 18, Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 May 2012 at 8 pm, Thailand Cultural Centre, Small Hall.
Dido & Aeneas by Henry Purcell is a three-act Baroque opera which tells a story of a tragic love story between Dido, the Queen of Carthage and the Trojan hero, Aeneas.
The production will be directed by NUNi Productions’ in-house director Pattarasuda Anuman Rajadon whose previous operas included The Threepenny Opera and Il campanello.
The production is consisted of 20 talented singers including Saran Suebsantiwongse, Monique Kongtruadroke and Ayano Kimura.
Bangkok Symphony Orchestra will be conducted from the harpsichord by a renowned Israeli conductor and harpsichord soloist, Shalev Ad-el, who is the Director of Accademia Daniel, Oslo Baroque Soloists, guest conductor and soloist with Israel Philharmonic, Israel Opera, Berlin Symphony, Berlin Philharmonic Stradivarius Soloists, Halle Philharmonic, Sydney Chamber Music Festival Orchestra, and New York Philharmonic Choir.
NUNi productions’ previous works include Mozart in Mischief (2007) Il campanello (2008) Orpheus Schemata (2009) and Threepenny Opera (2009)
