Alliance francaise de Bangkok is proud to showcase the exciting urban perspective photo exhibition “Hurban Vortex” (man in the middle of the urban world) by globe-trotting photographer Boris Wilensky to be displayed from June 19 to July 22 (closed on Monday) at Alliance francaise’s media library. The exhibition is free and open to the public.
Depicting Asia’s mega cities from new angles, Boris Wilensky’s photos blend people and things, shapes and colors by superimposing shots taken at fast and slow speed. As he puts together two digital negatives without retouching them, the artist invites up to reflect on the fusion of human beings with the urban environment. Having shot in two Asian cities, Wilensky intends to continue this project on urban settings on other continents in order to better grasp and record the uniqueness of the various urban environments.
With a passion for urban music and solo trips, this French who holds a degree in town planning from the French Université de Nantes works exclusively in Paris. Whether his exhibitions include portraits of artists or unknown figures, urban scenes, or instant shots of boxing matches, Wilensky shows man in his environment and from his own perspective.
