The success of Thailand’s animation and game industry comes from multi-party collaboration, along with the support of modern technological tools, and the media exposure of our innovative talents to the world. The advance technological tools of this digital era enable artists today to work in an expeditious and efficient manner. Their works are no longer limited to appear on paper or canvas. Modern digital technologies allow them to make impressions in people across the globe like never before.
The “DigiPlay:Thai-Uk Digital Festival” mini exhibition highlights the work of contemporary Thai illustrators. Selections of their work reflect the use of highly developed tools of the digital-era, from programs that help expressing the illustrators’ style and identity, to powerful communication devices such as the internet and online social networks which help showing their traditional 2D illustrative works to the world with a mere single click of the mouse.
Enjoy a showcase of world-renowned Thai illustrators such as Ice – Ratinan Thaijareun and her uniquely fascinating way of communicating symbolic meanings through detailed line drawings. Discover the work of Tum Spanky – Tosaporn Klunkaew and the distinctive methods he uses to modify Thai traditional patterns, and 8e88 Graphic – Preecha Itsarapiwat and the harmonious manner in using his personal experience in producing works that reflect traditional Thai and modern culture.
This mini exhibition is a part of the “DigiPlay:Thai-Uk Digital Festival” exhibition which is held on the 24th March – 1st May 2011 at Gallery 2, TCDC.
